We lovingly renovated this former fortified farmhouse, which dates back to the 15th century. “We” are two families: Abel, Salomé, Paul, Alma, and their parents Sophie and Pascal; … and her parents Johanna and Matthieu. It took many hands and a lot of heart to bring new life to this magical place — and to give it an interior as warm as the Beaujolais landscape that surrounds it.
We’d be delighted to welcome you for a peaceful stay in this place full of History (and stories). In the late afternoon, the sunlight gently lights up the terrace and bathes the house in a golden glow. It’s golden hour! ☀️
L’Heure Dorée is perfect for family getaways, holidays with friends, or even company retreats. 🌱🏠😊
The house offers 160 m² of living space, including a spacious 70 m² open-plan kitchen and living area, 3 bedrooms, a dorm-style room, 4 bathrooms, and 5 toilets. You’ll also enjoy a private terrace overlooking the pool and a shaded garden — ideal for relaxing and unwinding.
On request (with an additional fee), you can access a 37 m² yoga room, perfect for group sessions or solo practice. 🧘♀️🤸♀️
We can also provide baby equipment on request (travel cot, high chair, etc.).
We were deeply committed to giving this project a genuine ecological dimension. This accommodation was born from the complete transformation of a former guesthouse, which we fully renovated with sustainable, local, and responsible choices in mind. The insulation was done with hemp wool, a bio-based material, and we prioritized locally sourced materials throughout the renovation to minimize our carbon footprint.
We also reimagined the daily use of the space: a rainwater tank collects water used to fill the pool, which is naturally heated. The building's thermal comfort is enhanced by exterior vegetation that helps prevent overheating. Inside, a water-based cooling system replaces traditional air conditioning — a far more energy-efficient solution.
All provided products follow a zero-waste approach: bulk organic soaps, natural shampoos, waste sorting, and a compost bin are available. Household linens are recycled — towels come from former luxury hotels, and the sheets are made of recycled cotton — while most of the furniture has been carefully sourced second-hand or via short European supply chains. Even the mattresses were chosen for their responsible, European manufacturing.
We’re located just 40 minutes by car from downtown Lyon, and 35 minutes from Mâcon TGV station (1 hour and 35 minutes from Paris).
